Frequently asked questions
How do I use it?
Open the app — the camera is ready right away. Let it get a GPS fix (the status pill shows your coordinates), pick a stamp style (Classic, Bar, or Map), then tap the shutter. Your photo is stamped and saved to your gallery and to Photos. Tap the thumbnail (bottom-left) to see your saved shots.
Why is there no street address on my photo when I'm offline?
Coordinates, altitude, date and time are captured fully offline and always appear. The street address is looked up from your coordinates using Apple's geocoder, which needs an internet connection. With no signal, the address line is simply left off — your exact coordinates and time are still stamped (and written into the photo's EXIF metadata).
How do I restore my Premium purchase?
Premium is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID. On a new device or after reinstalling, open Settings → Remove ads / Go Premium, then tap Restore purchase. Your Premium features (logo watermark, video GPS overlay, batch capture) and ad-free experience will come back. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you bought it with.
Why is the camera ad-free but I see a banner in the gallery/settings?
By design. The free version shows a single small banner only on non-shooting screens (gallery, settings, and the after-photo preview) — never on the camera viewfinder, so nothing gets in the way of composing or taking a shot. There are no full-screen ads anywhere. Buying Premium removes the banner completely.
What's free vs Premium?
Free: GPS coordinates, address, date/time, altitude, speed & heading, all three stamp templates, the map thumbnail, EXIF GPS metadata, photo notes, coordinate format (decimal/DMS) & units, on-photo text recognition (OCR), and a custom company-name text label.
Premium (one-time): removes all ads, plus image logo/watermark, video with GPS overlay, and batch/rapid capture.
Where are my photos stored?
On your device only. GPS Camera has no account and no server — your photos never leave your iPhone unless you choose to share them.
